Watching America reports that Moammar Qaddafi thinks George Bush ought to
attend the Hajj in Mecca, since Europe and America will be Muslim soon, anyway:
Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi on Monday invited Jews and Christians to take the pilgrimage to Mecca, and insisted that the followers of both religions have the right to take the Hajj, go around the Kaaba, pray between Safa and Marwa and stand at Mount Arafat.
[Editor's Note: Entrance to the Mecca has always been forbidden to non-Muslims].
In the Malian city of Timbuktu and leading a prayer with the presidents of Mali, Sierra Leone, Niger, Mauritania and Senegal before sitting down for dinner at sunset, Gadhafi asserted that this [attending the Hajj] is a right, not only of Arabs and Muslims, and that he considered Mecca "the meeting place of all peoples except heretics and the vile."
After leading the prayer, he said that he considered that "People of the Book," such as Christians and Jews "are not heretics," and he said "they believe in God and are not vile." He also dared to suggest that the American President be allowed to take a pilgrimage around the Kaaba, saying that he should not be considered as vile or heretic, and wondering aloud, "if they [Arab leaders] consider him a vile person, why do they befriend him and eat with him?"
Gadhafi gave his assurance that Muslims don't need "the sword or the bomb to spread Islam," and expected Europe to become Muslim with a few dozen years. He proved this by pointing to the presence of 50 million Muslims, 14,000 thousand mosques and Islamic centers, and 1,500 Islamic organizations and associations in Europe, in addition to Turkey, Bosnia and Albania joining the European Union. He considered that "Europe and America face difficult times … as time passes they can either accept that they will become Muslim, or they must proclaim war on Muslims."

Iran to Give $50 million to Hamas-led Government

Elder of Ziyon was asking himself why Iran wasn’t financing publicly Hamas. Well, from The New York Times:

Iran said today that it would give $50 million in aid to the Hamas-led Palestinian government after the United States and the European Union froze their aid.
Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, announced the donation on the last day of a pro-Palestinian conference here.
"We warn that if the aid is cut and if this continues in the near future, this land will witness a humanitarian disaster and the occupiers and their supporters will be responsible," the ISNA student news agency quoted Mr. Mottaki as saying, alluding to Israel.
The European Union suspended its $600 million aid package and the United States a $400 million donation after Hamas's unexpected electoral victory in January. The measures were aimed at increasing pressure on the militant Palestinian group to renounce violence and to recognize Israel.

Sooooooooooooo… the culprits of the humanitarian crisis are European Union and Unites States…And Iran is a humanitarian country.

This world is full of idiots.

But as JihadWatch says:

Now we don't approve of Hamas getting a penny from anyone. Still, this is $50 million that the Thug-In-Chief can't use for his own galloping nuclear ambitions. And it's also $50 million unspent by the United States or Western Europe -- a small sum, but perhaps someday such sums will be put toward the defense against the global jihad.

Iran and the nuclear weaponry (I)

There is sometime since I wrote the last time about Iran and its Islamofascist President Ahmadinejad.

Reading All Things Beatiful we are informed that President Carter was the responsible of an agreement between USA and Iran as a result of which the hostages released by Iran cannot win damages for their ordeal from the Islamic Republic

The answer is deeply rooted in diplomatic obligations as set out in the Algiers Accords Agreement, which codified the January 1981 deal between the United States and Iran under which the hostages were released, approx. 8 billion dollars in Iranian assets were unfrozen, and an arbitration tribunal was established in the Netherlands to settle claims between the two countries. In the first part of the document, the United States pledged that it "will be the policy of the United States not to intervene, directly or indirectly, politically or militarily, in Iran's internal affairs." Elsewhere, the United States pledged to "bar and preclude" any claims filed by the hostages against Iran.
Under the Agreement, the United States is obligated "to terminate all legal proceedings in United States courts involving claims of United States persons and institutions against Iran and its state enterprises, to nullify all attachments and judgments obtained therein, to prohibit all further litigation based on such claims, and to bring about the termination of such claims through binding arbitration...."

Read the rest: as always it hits the center of the problem.

But Carter is not the only stupid that has been living in the White House. Bill Clinton has a lot of things in common with him and to prove it, he said at Davos that:

[It is] the only one with elections, including the United States, including Israel, including you name it, where the liberals, or the progressives, have won two-thirds to 70 percent of the vote in six elections: two for President; two for the parliament, the Majlis; two for the mayoralities.In every single election, the guys I identify with got two-thirds to 70% of the vote. There is no other country in the world I can say that about, certainly not my own.

He said that AFTER the Ahmadenijad's victory, after the Anti-semite and Anti-Israel remarks and after ...

Alexandra also writes about nuclear weapons:

In response to Russian President Putin's remark, "..we have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the whole world 7 times over, but [we] do not talk like Iranian leaders do, so why do [they]?", Ramin says:
"[We have] just woken up after 16 years of forgetting God. [...] Only 11 countries in the world [are] against Iran whereas there [are] some 150 states supporting Iran."
“We will acquire this [nuclear] technology and export it to all the 150 countries,” he threatened, adding that “this is the power we have not yet used”.

Not very long time ago, the BBC keep on informing that Iran should return to the negotitaions table, as Mark informed then. The reasons of this uneasiness were obvious: no one with common sense just believes that Iran wanted the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, as they have proved once and again. For example, conducting war games and missile tests in the Persian Gulf, texting (sucessfully) nuclear-capable missiles -in the image-:

"It has a very powerful warhead designed to hit big submarines. Even if enemy warship sensors identify the missile, no warship can escape from this missile because of its high speed,"[Gen] Fadavi [deputy head of the Revolutionary Guards' navy] told state television. Both missile tests took place in the context of large-scale military war games in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea. Iran's Revolutionary Guard proudly boasts yet another technological wonder they have tested during their Holy Prophet War Games. With the blessings of Allah, proving their ability to create modern war toys that would put Batman and James Bond to shame, the Guard has humbly allowed the Hoot (it means whale) torpedo declared to be the fastest torpedo on earth to be glimpsed upon Iran state TV. What a whale of a story (and a hoot to boot) this new flying boat that was tested is for ratings on the state run television network. As the story goes, Jihad looms even closer to reality when you have a boat that flies AND can evade radar.

Russians are a key to the actual behaviour of the Mullahs. They have helped them even to become the newest member of the international space club. Russia is just acting in a Cold War manner (and US is menacing with economical retaliation) and although there are some people that can be outraged at its role -what I understand perfectly-, there are some reasons: they are playing a desperate role to comply with China and Iran, at the same time because:

China's soaring energy needs would seem to put Russia in the catbird seat. But in fact, it works the other way. There's no denying China's need for Russian natural resources. By some estimates, China will look to Russia to supply 20 percent of its energy imports by 2011. Ditto for other resources like lumber and aluminum. But China is developing other sources of supply as well, like Iran and Kazakhstan for oil. Chinese companies have been buying iron-ore mines in Australia, as well as Canada's largest nickel and zinc mining company, Noranda. China isn't about to become critically dependent on Russia, while Russia is becoming dependent on China—which will account for half of Russia's energy exports by 2015, according to some estimates.

And it is possible that some Ukranian missiles (in fact 250 nuclear warheads) which were lost, are now in the hands of Iranians.

China is the other great benefactor of Teheran: it has sold weapons to Teheran, justifying it because "China has normal trade relations with a lot of countries". Mmm...

There were people who were doubting their actual capability to have those weapons, others claim that until Iran did not have the bomb they were fooling everyone... and others have just said they were exaggerating or simply that Iran did not pose a significant nuclear threat (what is a non-significant nuclear threat...?) And of course, Ah mandenijad said first, there were going to be good news in the nuclear issue, and then:

"I'm announcing officially that Iran has now joined the countries that have nuclear technology," Ahmadinejad said in a carefully staged speech carried live across Iran. "This is a very historic moment, and this is because of the Iranian people and their belief. And this is the start of the progress of this country." "We are saying again that the nuclear technology is only for the purpose of peace and nothing else," Ahmadinejad said

Something that ElBaradei said some time ago.

And fearing sanctions (as Bolton has threatened), so as to transfer assets to Iran:

In fact some proof of Iran's preparations against possible sanctions were given two days ago by the Swiss daily La Liberte. Since last fall, rumors of Iran's transfer of assets from European institutions to Arab ones have been numerous. But La Liberte affirmed that they have confirmed that at least 250 tons of gold were transferred from Credit Suisse Zurich in three charter planes of Iran Air in October and November. The initial info came from an Iranian Communist opposition group which provided the Swiss daily with records from the Central Bank of Iran pertaining about that gold transfer. La Liberte confirmed this information with credible Swiss sources and even Credit Suisse did not deny it. The opposition group is claiming that up to 700 tons of gold and $20 billion were actually transferred out of Switzerland during last fall

But they are not only relying on missiles and nuclear technology but actually:

"The Iranian government views the Islamic Jihad, the name of Hezbollah's terrorist organization, "as an extension of their state. . . . operational teams could be deployed without a long period of preparation," said Ambassador Henry A. Crumpton, the State Department's coordinator for counterterrorism."
Clarke, ABC consultant and former national security official. said that Iran:

had three terrorist organizations it sponsored or controlled. The most important is the Lebanon-based paramilitary organization Hezbollah, which destroyed the Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 and killed 241 Marines. Hezbollah is suspected in the 1996 attack on the Khobar towers in Saudi Arabia. Iran also has control over Shiite militias in Iraq and has its own special forces called the Qods Force. These three organizations make al Qaeda look like a kindergarten, Clarke said.

And now they have the extraordinary help of Hamas, now governing over the Palestinian Authority. But Iran, although calling for other Islamic countries to fund Hamas, is not doing it itself, at least publicly.

So USA proves a new non-conventional bomb (700 tons) built to destroy underground enemy bunkers in the Nevada desert (see the diagram The Telegraph published about how US could destroy Iranian nuclear programme). Even some people think Bush is preparing himself to nuke Iran, tactical ones to be more precise. Vital Perspective links that with the UN corruption. Of course Jack Straw has dismissed that possibility describing that idea as "completely nuts". And Strategy Page has said that there are no proofs to say that the Bush Administration has those plans (via Vital Perspective).

And UK is holding secret talks to discuss possible military strikes against the country (via Barcepundit), although they have denied it.

And what they want all of these things for?

To Ahmadinejad and his contemporaries, the entire world appears as a vast conspiracy to prevent them from having what rightfully is theirs: dominance of the Middle East from the Mediterranean to the Caspian, and eventually, much more. They know with absolutely certainty that they cannot fail, that the United States will withdraw from the region in confusion, and that they shall triumph.

Oh, and to defend Islam.

The solutions are not very much and very difficult to take in any case.

Back we have to go back to Mr Rahmin (in the photo):

My translation of a short passage from a German interview in June 2004, well before the election of extremist Ahmadinejad, shows why this soft-spoken ideology always ends in disaster:
"We have never claimed to be a democratic system fashioned after the Western model, nor that we even seek to establish one. [...]We don't want a system where people like George Bush can be elected as their leader, but instead want a system where the selection is ensured by reasonable and wise individuals."

That has a name: an oligarchia, the Government of some people, the most prepared, clever... But who elects them? How can we assure they are the most... in the country? And by the way, oligrachy is a form of tyranny, in which the tyrans are more that one. It's just the dictatorship of more that 1 person. Terrorism Unveiled writes about the "recipe for reform" on Iran. Really, I do not see it reforming with these leaders...

The problem I see with this is the constant menaces Iranian polititian are doing to the rest of the world. And in this of course Israel and the Jews are the first to whom the menaces are directed:

His logic is as simple as it is evil: Should his committee determine that indeed 6 million Jews had been killed by the Nazis, then another committee must be assembled and determine a just punishment for Germany, which, oh quelle surprise, must include the transfer of German territory so as to establish a Jewish State.
Should it however establish, that Holocaust was a 'Myth', Ramin would have successfully vilified the Jews and exonerated the Nazis. He would then hope to re-open the debate questioning the legality of the State of Israel and bring him one step closer to return Israel's territories to Arab rule. Destruction of Israel is only the last resort option. Much preferred is to usurp Israel 'peacefully', and hand control over to Arab leaders. I wonder what he'd call the new nation...

Another interesting issue is the influence Iran is having just now on Iraq. You can read the Omar's post in Iraq the Model. He concludes:

The other thing that makes me optimistic is that the mullahs do not have much time left to continue their interference with Iraq's affairs; they are opposing the whole world with their persistent pursuit for nukes and they have entered a race against time in Iraq not realizing that the closer they get to their goals, the closer their end gets to them.

And if we talk about the present situation of Iran, we are obliged to write about the total lack of respect to Human Rights -or at least to the Human Rights that the non-extremist-jihadist Humanity- respect. Barcepundit links a post about the right to self-defense in different cultures and contexts. But if you really want to know the deplorable state in which the Human Rights are in Iran, please go and read this post in IBA. It's a very important post because the links and the photos introduce us in a kind of hard nightmare that is difficult to understand. Specially apalling for me is the story of

a murdered Iranian pro-democracy secular activist. That's why the Western media have not reported it. Kamal Seyd Ghader aka Showane was kidnapped in broad daylight in Mahabad and beaten and tortured to death by Islamic state's security forces.. As a result of Showane's horrific murder, the people of Mahabad and the nearby Bukan and Sardasht erupted in protest. Another youth and law enforcement officer were killed in the clashes. Tens were injured and around 300 people have been reported under arrest.

The photos are really terrible.

But Iran is up for a sit in the "new and improved" Security Council (via Atlas Shrugs):

Iran has put itself forward as a candidate for a seat on the new United Nations Human Rights Council in its inaugural election of forty-seven members scheduled for May 9th. Insiders believe that Iran will be voted in by the General Assembly, because it is grouped with the Asian bloc of nations that are allotted thirteen seats on the forty-seven seat Council.

But of course, you can always blame the media and the Zionist conspiration for what you are doing wrong... Even if -for example-

German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble (CDU) recently stated that Ahmadinejad is welcome at the World Cup because Germany wants to be "a good host." Schaeuble, who is considered conservative by German standards, said that he would "talk to him about his statements" in the event of a visit and added that "it will not be entirely simple."

(Translation is: "Thank you very much for the kind words, Herr Schaeuble! I am already happy about coming to the land of my great idol..."

I wonder if she asked for a glass of wine with her meals... that'd have been cool.

Oh, yeah, that would have been cool.

And the contrast is evident between the Spanish Queen and the women that appear with her in the photo. I am not very monarchist but I admire her for long: I think she is a wonderful Queen, what I cannot say about the rest of the Spanish monarchy.

All this head-scratching results, of course, from ignorance of the jihad ideology and how people can come to hold it. Any Muslim, like Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, can turn from partier to shahid simply by reading the Qur'an. Anyone reading this who finds that assertion offensive is invited write in to me at director@jihadwatch.org and explain how it can be prevented. But the Muslims who are perpetrating violent acts all over the world are justifying them by the Qur'an [...]

Although I think not ALL Muslims can convert into suicide bombers, certainly the language of the Koram can provoke that some of them -a minority each day greater- can turn into suicide bombers.

An Israeli Arab leader said Jerusalem will become an international Islamist capital. "Jerusalem will soon be the capital of a Moslem Arab Caliphate, and all efforts by the Israeli establishement to Judaize the city will amount to nothing," Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, told a weekend rally in Kafr Kassem. Salah, who was briefly accused by Israeli authorities of funding Palestinian terrorist groups, also said the Jewish State was planning to replace the Al-Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem with a Third Temple as part of a "plot" hatched in coordination with the United States.
